Mustangs sign with colleges Mustangs sign with collegesPHOTO 1: Marble Falls High School baseball players Cole Ridgely (seated, left) and Stacy Heinatz sign to play for McLennan College in Waco as Mustangs head coach J.T. Blair looks on. The two will be roommates after they both tried out and were offered 75 percent scholarships. They called the junior college ideal because it’s ‘close to home.’ Heinatz, who had a .330 batting average, said playing college baseball fulfilled a childhood goal. Heinatz is leaning toward wildlife management as a major. Ridgely, who is undecided on a major, was the Mustangs’ top pitcher, posting a 2.20 ERA with 120 strikeouts in 80 innings to lead the Austin area. Staff photos by Jennifer Fierro

Celebrating her signing are mother Denise (seated, left), sister Jackelyn (standing, left), father Kevin Winn and Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs. Jessica has a family member who works at Neumann and spoke to the coaching staff about the Lady Mustang. ‘I’ve never seen snow. I’m excited to see snow,’ she said with a smile. ‘It’ll be a good experience to get out of Texas and see the world a little bit.’ Jessica plans on majoring in sports management to become an event planner. Downs said the front-row player will ‘bring enthusiasm and work ethic. She wants to be successful.’
