OBITUARY: Evalyn Lorene Hale McLean, 97, of Marble Falls dies May 30, 2013

Evalyn Lorene Hale McLean, 97, of Marble Falls died May 30, 2013, in Burnet. She was born in Goldthwaite, Texas, on Sept. 27, 1915, to Charles Melvin and Rose Etta Miller Hale.
Her early childhood was spent traveling in a covered wagon between Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, working ranches with her family.
She married Clarence Martin McLean on Aug. 26, 1934, in Briggs. They spent most of their early married life in northern Burnet County working on farms until they moved to Marble Falls in 1956.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by sons, Martin McLean and wife Gladys, Edwin McLean and wife Judy and Jerry McLean, all of Marble Falls; six grandchildren, Kevin McLean, Brenda Belk, Scott McLean, Sheryl Hollifield, Cory McLean and Patrick McLean; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also is survived by brothers Roy Hale of Lampasas and Aubrey Hale of Killeen.
Evalyn was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence McLean; parents, Charles and Rosetta Hale; brothers Loyed Hale, Jake Hale, Donald Lee Hale and Hyller Hale; and sisters Mary Hale and Lena Powell.
A funeral service was June 2 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with the Rev. Max Copeland officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin McLean, Brenda Belk, Scott McLean, Cory McLean, Sheryl Hollifield and Patrick McLean.
