Burnet voters select Phair, Shanes and Fortin; Bertram picks three

BURNET — City of Burnet residents gave their support to three council candidates, Herve Derek Fortin, Mitlon Phair and Mary Jane Shanes.

The three were the top vote getters out of a race of five. Mayor Gary Wideman ran unopposed.

The vote breakdown went:

• Herve Derek Fortin, 234

• Pat Riddell, 125

• Mary Jane Shanes, 260

• Buddy Coker, 143

• Milton Phair, 220

Burnet voters also approved all nine propositions on the ballot.

In the Burnet Consolidated School Board, voters chose Charles Williams over Linda Holland for Place 1, 455-327, and C. Andy Feild over Tyler C. Graves, 424-303.

In Bertram, Glen Hopkins, Pat Turner and Kim Klose were selected for the three alderman positions. Dickie Allen ran unopposed for the unexpired mayor’s seat.
