AUSTIN — Eight Marble Falls High School track-and-field athletes qualified for the regional meet after finishing in the top four at the District 25-26 area meet April 18.

Marble Falls seniors Cody Schulz and Rey Baltazar are area champions in their events. Schulz, who fought through an injury-filled season, was first in the 400 meters. Baltazar continued his dominance in the shot put, taking another gold this season. The only shot put meet Baltazar didn’t win was at the Texas Relays.

Eleven Burnet Bulldogs stamp ticket to regional meet

STEPHENVILLE — The Burnet High School girls track-and-field team scored 67 points at the District 7-8 area meet on April 18.

“The meet was very competitive due to the entries but with the added challenge of great Central Texas weather,” Burnet head coach Doug Messer said. “The girls competed at a high level and advanced many events to the regional meet.”

The top four finishers in each event move on to the Class 3A Region I meet.

For the boys, Joe Parker and Aaron Johns advanced to the regional meet in the 800 meters and shot put, respectively.
