AUSTIN — The Faith Academy of Marble Falls tennis teams are sending 10 players to the state tournament after dominating the TAPPS District 3-2A Tennis Tournament on April 16.

The girls and boys teams won the district championship and the combined overall trophy.

“We advanced everybody to state except the No. 2 boys doubles team,” Flames coach Michelle Stallard said.

The top four in doubles and singles advance to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools state tournament April 24-25 in Waco.

For the boys, junior Reagan Vaughn placed second in singles and Rich Coleman finished fourth. The No. 1 doubles team of Alec Gonzales and Luke Hering placed third.

On the girls team, senior Sarah Mason Thomas won her fourth straight district singles championship and Brandi Kuhlman was second. Thomas will compete for her fourth straight singles championship at the state tournament.

The No. 1 doubles team of Savannah Still and Nicole Johnson won the district tournament, and the No. 2 team of Beckah Graham and Ariel Blaylock finished third.

The girls team will compete at state for its fourth straight team state championship. The boys will look for its first title since 2009.
