Three Burnet tennis players going to regionals

LLANO — Thanks to their finishes at the District 8-3A Tournament, three Burnet High School tennis players are moving on to the Class 3A Region I tournament.
They are boys singles player Price Carpenter, a junior, and girls doubles partners Ali Simon, a senior, and Hailey Wilson, a junior.

Boys singles — Price Carpenter def. Collier of Lampasas 6-0, 6-0, def. Sheehan of Brownwood, 6-0, 6-0 and def. Johnson of Brownwood 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. Boys doubles – Luke Webb and Caleb Anders def. Bynum and Cambon of Lampasas 6-1, 6-2, def. Marlin and Bryant of Brownwood 6-2, 7-5, lost to Krumnaw and Radle of Gatesville 6-2, 7-5 to finish fourth overall. Girls singles – Jimena Lopez lost to Chesney Goza of Liberty Hill. Girls doubles — Simon and Wilson def. Niell and Dobias of Liberty Hill 6-3, 6-2, def. Kaufert and Laborde of Lampasas 6-4, 6-3, lost in the finals 6-4, 3-6, 5-7; Shawn Chambers and Cheyenne King lost to Smith and Chastain of Gatesville 6-2, 6-2. Mixed doubles – Clay Bilac and Brooke Hemphill lost to Warner and Maxwell of Liberty Hill 6-4, 6-7 (4), 3-6

Mixed doubles — Korbin Ward and Candice Bransen def. Barters and Linderman of Gatesville 8-0, lost to Jackson and Landry of Liberty Hill.
