Burnet baseball’s late-inning rally falls short against Brownwood

BROWNWOOD — The Burnet High School baseball team lost to Brownwood 7-3 on April 5.
The Lions are now in second place in District 8-3A standings, while the Bulldogs drop to third.
Burnet got a run in the second inning when a dropped third strike allowed Joshua Thompson to score from third.
But Brownwood scored three runs in the second inning, two in the third and two in the fourth before the Bulldogs responded in the seventh.
Jeremy Ayers hit a one-run triple and later went home on an RBI single from Colton Rockafellow.
The game ended on a strikeout, stranding two Bulldogs.
