Leander beats Lady Mustangs 2-0 in district soccer
FROM STAFF REPORTS
LEANDER — The Marble Falls High School girls soccer team lost 2-0 to Leander on Feb. 15.
Marble Falls head coach Trey Young commended the Lady Lions on their passing skills, which forced the Lady Mustangs to chase the ball.
“We just weren’t passing well, we weren’t pressing well,” he said. “We were getting quality looks. That tells me our eyes weren’t up. Basically, we weren’t into it at all.”
Marble Falls played better in the second half, Young said, but couldn’t get a scoring opportunity.
The coach said he hopes his players understand they must be mentally ready to play every contest
“There are no cakewalks in this district,” he said. “When you’re given a chance, you have to capitalize.”
