MARBLE FALLS — When it was needed the most, the Faith Academy boys basketball team scored the game-winning layup.

Head coach Randy Denton said the Flames missed several throughout the course of the 41-39 win against Austin Hill Country on Feb. 1.

But when senior guards Brian Freeman and Lucas Wright were covered, freshman Rich Coleman drove to the basket for the game winner with 8 seconds remaining in the contest.

“He had a good drive and made the layup,” Denton said. “They hung in there and they stayed focused. It was an exciting game, pretty energetic.”

The win means the Flames are no worse than third going into this week’s games. Denton expects a showdown against Waco Texas Christian on Feb. 7, which also is senior night.[tabs style=”default”] [tab title=”GAME STATS”]TOP PLAYERS: Reagan Vaughn 18 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals
