Highland Lakes school boards open filing for May election

BURNET — People interested in making a difference in education policy and direction can put their names on the ballot for the May election starting Jan. 30.

Filing for school board positions runs from that date through March 1 at all three area public school districts: Burnet, Llano and Marble Falls.

Burnet Consolidated Independent School District has two places on the May 11 ballot: Place 1, which is currently held by Alan Snider, and Place 5, which is currently held by Andy Feild.

People interested in filing for one of the two seats can pick up a packet at the BCISD office, 208 E. Brier St. in Burnet.

In Llano, there are three places that are up for election: Place 2, which is currently held by John Moran; Place 6, which is currently held by Becky Robinson; and Place 7, which is currently help by Ronnie Rudd.

Packets are available at the Llano Independent School District office, 1400 Oatman in Llano. For more, go to www.llanoisd.org.

Marble Falls Independent School District has two places on the upcoming ballot: Place 1, which is currently held by Mike Savage, and Place 2, which is currently held by Karl Westerman.

For people interested in running for the MFISD board, the packets and instructions are available online at www.marble.tx.schoolwebpages.com. The information can be located under the “School Board” section on the left side of the home page.
