Lady Mustangs fall to Leander in district play
MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School girls basketball team lost to Leander High 60-48 on Jan. 18.

With two minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Lady Lions broke a 9-9 tie by going on an 8-0 run that forced the Lady Mustangs into a timeout. Though Leander didn’t score again the rest of the period, neither did Marble Falls. And the Lady Mustangs weren’t able to overcome that early run the rest of the game.
“Leander came to play,” Marble Falls head coach Chris Jost said. “They came to play from the tipoff and kept us on our heels.”
The Lady Mustangs played better the rest of the game, he added, but the Lady Lions matched them point for point.
“The energy we had in the end, we need to come out with in the first quarter,” he said. “(Leander) executed well; they shot the ball well. We have to dictate to the other teams.”
