Granite Shoals storage building fire called ‘suspicious’
GRANITE SHOALS — A storage building fire early Jan. 21 destroyed contents in at least 16 units and has officials investigating the cause.

Granite Shoals Police Department Capt. Gary Boshears said a boat, a car and other personal items were destroyed in the fire, which began about 7:15 a.m at Ross Storage in the 7100 block of RR 1431.
Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief and Fire Marshal Johnny Caraway said a cause had not been determined for the fire, although he called the blaze “suspicious.”
Caraway said a black vehicle was seen near the storage buildings about the time the fire began.

Granite Shoals and Marble Falls firefighters responded to the blaze, which was contained to one building of several on the lot. No injuries were reported. Traffic was diverted off RR 1431 from Prairie Creek Road to Valley View Lane for about two hours as the fire hose stretched across the highway. The nearest fire hydrant was located across the street from the storage buildings.
