Burnet girls in first place in district after win
BURNET — The Burnet High School girls basketball team took sole possession of first place in District 8-3A after its 47-36 win against Gatesville on Jan. 8.
The Lady Dawgs cruised to a 21-2 lead in the first quarter, but foul trouble forced the Lady Dawgs to play conservatively in the second and third periods, head coach Mike Cavender said.
“(It) slowed our aggressive defense down the rest of the way,” he said. “We just need to mentally learn how to play the complete game.”
