MARBLE FALLS — The Faith Academy of Marble Falls boys basketball team’s defense paved for the way for a 55-30 win against Kerrville Our Lady of the Hills on Jan. 7.

It was the Flames’ most lopsided victory of the season.

“They’re getting better,” Faith Academy head coach Randy Denton said of his team. “Pressure was good early, the transition from defense to offense and vice versa. I think we’ve done a better job of it. We were definitely good offensively, and defensive execution was better. Now, we have to clean up the offensive execution.”

The Flames opened the game with a 9-0 run and were never threatened.

Denton said he thought the play was a little sloppy early, but that might have been because the Flames had not played since a 51-28 win against San Juan Diego on Dec. 28.

“That’s too be expected somewhat,” the coach said.
