Cedar Park hands Lady Mustangs second straight district loss
The Lady Mustangs lost 66-46 to Cedar Park High in a contest the Lady Timberwolves seized control of early with a 17-8 lead in the first quarter.
Still, Lady Mustangs head coach Chris Jost said his players didn’t go down without a fight. Trailing 37-23 at halftime, Marble Falls scored a quick bucket to begin the third quarter, got a steal and then a 3-pointer from junior guard Sarah Stripling all within 30 seconds.
But Cedar Park called a timeout and then scored three consecutive 3-pointers, essentially putting the game away. In all, the Lady Timberwolves hit 10-of-14 3-pointers.
“We had some opportunities early in the paint and couldn’t cash in on those,” Jost said.
Jost hopes the lack of confidence from some of his players changes before facing Leander Rouse on Jan. 5.
