Burnet again searching for new volleyball head coach
BURNET — Burnet High School head volleyball coach Monica Meyers resigned shortly before the start of the Thanksgiving holiday, girls athletic coordinator Mike Cavender said.
“She resigned for personal reasons,” he said.
He cited privacy as reasons why he couldn’t elaborate more.
Now the athletic department finds itself in the same position it was in in the spring – hiring a new head coach for the sport.
Cavender said the position has been posted. Currently, officials are trying to hire a permanent English teacher to finish out the year and a volleyball coach and English teacher to start the 2013-2014 school year, he said.
Under Meyers’ direction, the Lady Dawgs missed the playoffs for the first time since returning to Class 3A in 2008.
She replaced Bethany Grissom, who resigned in March to become the girls athletic coordinator and head volleyball coach at Thrall.
