Bettie Joe Blackwood

<p>Bettie Joe Blackwood, 66, of Llano passed away Nov. 28, 2012. She was   born on Feb. 4, 1946, to Lizzy (Williams) Skaggs and Bennie Clarence   Skaggs in San Saba.</p>
<p>Bettie worked as an Mental Health Mental Retardation caregiver for   many years. She loved gospel music and gardening. Bettie never met a   stranger, and she enjoyed taking care of her family.</p>
<p>Survivors include her life partner, Dudie Gray of Llano; daughters,   Karen Edmondson and husband Jimmy of Big Spring, Becky Bell of Llano,   Barbara Ahrlett and husband Lance of Llano and Billie Jo Lively and   husband Richard of Llano; sons, Burt Eddie Blackwood of Gatesville, Ben   Blackwood and wife Debby of Miami, Bryan Blackwood of Llano and Karl   Jones of San Saba; sister, Elizabeth Crawford of Gatesville; 17   grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews   whom she loved dearly.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; and a son.</p>
<p>A memorial service is 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne   Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with Pastor   Ervin Light officiating.</p>
