Robert Lincoln Booker
Robert Lincoln Booker, 85, of Burnet died Nov. 14, 2012. He was born to John Olin and Ila (Wood) Booker Sr. on Oct. 4, 1927, in Lufkin.
Mr. Booker proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was married to Dorothy Daniel.
Following college, Bob was employed as a geologist. He worked for many years in that field, retiring to the Highland Lakes. He was an avid Aggie and Cowboy football fan, a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, guitar, piano and reading.
Bob is survived by daughters Barbara Svatek of Bryan, Lynn Block of Kerrville and Sue Vaden of Uvalde; sons Robert Booker of Martindale and Daniel Booker of Margate, Fla.; grandchildren Travis, Ryan, Rachel Block, Jolie Helms, Luke Vaden, Jamie Holmes, Jeff Connally, Emily Batchelor, Katie Svatek, Robert Henry Booker, Jack and Justin Booker; numerous great-grandchildren; brother John L. Booker Jr.; nieces and nephews; best friend Jack Hollingsworth; and his dog Trixie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Booker, in 2000.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008, with the Rev. Don Duvall and the Highland Lakes Honor Guard officiating. Inurnment will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Burnet at a later date.
