Irene S. Gregory
Irene S. Gregory, 92, of Llano, Texas, passed away Nov. 10, 2012. She was born on June 27, 1920, to Gertrude (Knopp) Schmidt and Ernst Schmidt in Gillespie County, Texas.
Irene married Willis Gregory on March 14, 1945, in Fredericksburg, Texas; he preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and five brothers.
Irene worked at Charlie’s Store as a sales clerk for 40 years. She had been a resident of Llano since 1934, coming from Doss, Texas, and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was Nov. 12 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.
A graveside service was Nov. 13 at the Oxford Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Vandventer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. James Lutheran Church, 1401 Ford St., Llano, TX 78643, or to the Oxford Cemetery Association.
