Hugh Michael “Mike” Blitch passed away Nov. 10, 2012, in Burnet. He was born March 18, 1947, in Stockton, Calif., to Harold E. and Bess Scott Blitch.

He lived in Lawrence, Kan., until 1966, when he became a U.S. Marine. Mike was twice deployed to Vietnam, where he learned to be a welder. He continued this work the remainder of his life. He had lived in Burnet for approximately 20 years.

Mike is survived by his mother, Bess; sister, Beth; and sons Jay and wife Amber and their four children and Joel and wife Camisha and their two children. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Gordon Blitch, and his father, Harold Eugene Blitch.

A memorial service in memory of Mike is 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-222, with Pastor Jon Weems officiating.
