Cedar Park Vista Ridge def. Marble Falls 25-20, 19-25, 25-14, 25-10
MARBLE FALLS — The Lady Mustangs had the lead in the first set but couldn’t come up with enough shots to win it Oct. 16. That wasn’t the case in the second game as they led by as many as eight points. Then Vista Ridge took over in the last two sets for the match win.
Lady Mustangs head coach Julie Downs said the difference in the final two sets might have been experience.

SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls junior varsity lost 20-25, 25-23, 16-25. Marble Falls freshmen lost 16-25, 14-25.

LIBERTY HILL —The Lady Dawgs took on District 8-3A’s top squad Oct. 16, and Liberty Hill played the part with a straight-sets victory.

ON DEFENSE: Blocks — Riley Scott 1; digs — Riana Bond 10
RECORDS: Burnet is 8-21 overall and 4-4 in District 8-3A; Liberty Hill is 23-17, 8-0.

Gatesville def. Llano 25-21, 25-21, 25-19
GATESVILLE — The Lady Jackets’ defense was the difference in the match Oct. 16, head coach Shawn Sweeten-Meredith said.
“Despite our digs and counterattacks, we did not have the diehard diving plays that we showed in the last match with this team,” she said. “Furthermore, we placed ourselves in a position to play ‘catch-up’ the entire match.”
ON OFFENSE: Kills — Cierra Jordan 13, Lacie Redden 7; assists — Cheyenne Swenson 12, Amanda Morgan 10; aces — Jessica Wunderlich 2.
ON DEFENSE: Blocks — Moore and Redden 2 each; digs — Morgan 12, Wunderlich 10
QUOTABLE: “We had some good rallies. We did some good things. However in the end, Gatesville had the better defense, the better counterattacks and kills, and that allowed them to keep the momentum in their court,” head coach Shawn Sweeten-Meredith said.
RECORDS: Llano is 16-21overall and 4-4 in District 8-3A play.
SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Llano junior varsity (8-15, 1-6) lost 19-25, 25-15, 12-25. Llano freshmen (9-17, 1-6) lost 8-25, 19-25.
Liberty Hill def. Burnet 7th A 25-16, 25-18 on Oct. 15
LIBERTY HILL — Burnet struggled to get the momentum needed to pull out a win, coach Holly Hafley said, adding the Lady Dawgs (8-3, 5-2) tried to fight their way back in to the second game but were unable to do so.

Liberty Hill def. Burnet 8th A 25-22, 25-15 on Oct. 15
LIBERTY HILL — The Lady Dawgs (5-6, 4-3) took on a solid Panther team, coaches said. It was a close during the start of the first game, but the Panthers took the win.
Liberty Hill had the upper hand in the second game, leading to a Panther victory.
