James Lloyd Spidle

James Lloyd Spidle, 84, died Oct. 12, 2012. He was born on Sept. 24, 1928, to Many, La., to James and Omada (Norwood) Spidle and was raised in Texas.
He married Carolyn on June 7, 1949, in Beaumont. He attended Lamar Junior College in Beaumont. He later graduated Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science and received his medical degree at the University of Texas-Galveston.
He was a general practitioner in Southeast Texas before moving to Austin. He did his pathology residency in Austin and served as chief of pathology at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
After retirement, he and his wife moved to Buchanan Dam. He was a member of Highland Lakes United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Carolyn Spidle of Bluffton and daughter Jamie Elizabeth Spidle of Los Angeles.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. Oct. 16 at Bluffton Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Roe officiating.
