Alan Haynes, 65, died Oct. 14, 2012. He was born on Aug. 21, 1947, in San Antonio to John and Amy Haynes.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife, Melba, were married for 44 years. They raised three children: Sean, Christy and Stacey.

He spent many years working in the oil fields of West Texas and later owned a construction company. He enjoyed collecting guns and knives and watching Texas Longhorn football and science-fiction movies.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters Christy Oliver and husband Terry and Stacey Soulas and husband Hector; daughter-in-law Shiela Haynes; brothers Bruce Haynes and Mike Haynes and wife Kathy; sisters, Andrea Tomerlin and Sara Moses and husband Donnie; grandchildren Brittany Lynch, Hector Soulas, Paige Oliver, McKenzie Oliver and Kansas Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Sean Haynes.

A memorial service is noon Nov. 3 at the Haynes family cemetery.
