Donald Harned

Donald Harned, 63, died Oct. 5, 2012. He was born on April 6, 1929, in Llano to C.A. and Jessie Harned. He married Evelyn Harned Sept. 11, 1949. He retired from Union Carbide after 20 years as a pipe-fitter. He served in the Marine Corps and was also a Master Mason.
He grew up hunting and fishing in the Hill Country with his dad and cousins. He also enjoyed spending time on the coast. He passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. The only thing he enjoyed more was spending time with and taking care of his family and friends.
Survivors include daughter Donna and husband Jim Cobble of Seadrift; sons Darrell and wife Ginny Harned of Corpus Christi and Stephen Harned of Richmond; grandchildren Jeremy and wife Allison Harned, Kassie Harned, and James and Katie Cobble; great-grandson Todd Harned; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Harned.
A memorial service was Oct. 8 at the First Baptist Church in Seadrift.
Visitation is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. Oct. 9 at Wright’s Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Meegan officiating.
