Charles L. “Chuck” Vinson, 89, of Meadowlakes died Oct. 4, 2012, in Round Rock. He was born on Aug. 16, 1923, in Fort Worth.

He moved to the Arlington/Pantego area in 1972 and to Marble Falls in July 2003.

He attended Poly High School and graduated from Paschal High School in 1940. He was a 1943 graduate of King’s Point Merchant Marine Academy and a Navy lieutenant during World War II.

He worked in the home-furnishings industry for 16 years before becoming co-owner of Bemco Sleep Products in 1965. He sold the business after 20 years and retired in 1985.

He was a member of Glen Garden Country Club for more than 30 years and of the Marble Falls Senior Activity Center, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and participating in activities.

All who knew and loved him will miss his wonderful sense of humor and his jokes.

Survivors include wife Arlene Vinson of Meadowlakes; daughter Chris Vinson Garcia of Terrell; son Chic Vinson and wife Gay of Marble Falls; grandchildren Justin and Amy Vinson of Marble Falls, Karis and Pete Pasley of Benbrook, Christiana Garcia of Fort Worth, Chauntel and Nomar Cabello of Terrell and Chase and Misty Garcia of Arlington; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one nephew and nieces.

Visitation is 1-2:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
