GATESVILLE — The Lady Dawgs kept the pressure on opponents though they weren’t able to win enough sets to earn match victories.
Burnet lost to Gatesville 12-25, 25-13, 16-25 on Oct. 1 and Dripping Springs 9-25, 10-25 and Murchison 9-25, 16-25 on Sept. 29. Burnet defeated Kerrville 27-25, 25-16.

QUOTABLE: “The Lady Dawgs struggled with receiving the serve in the first game against Gatesville. The girls really picked up the momentum and confidence in the second game. It all came down to the third game, and it was point for point for a while,” Lady Dawgs head coach Holly Hafley said.

Burnet 7th B beat Gatesville 25-20, 25-10
GATESVILLE — The Lady Dawgs made quick work of Gatesville on Oct. 1 thanks to strong serves and a front row that dominated the net, coach Jeanne Jackson said.

Gatesville def. Burnet 8th B 11-25, 30-29, 25-21
GATESVILLE — The Lady Dawgs had the start they wanted, taking the first set Oct. 1 and surprising Gatesville, coach Jeanne Jackson said.
Officials ended the second set when Gatesville scored the 30th point. Then serving became a struggle, the coach said, allowing Gateville to win the match.
QUOTABLE: “The girls represented Burnet well – fighting until the end,” Jackson said.
RECORD: Burnet 8th B is 3-2 overall.

Burnet 7th A earns second place at Dripping Springs tourney, beats Gatesville in district play
GATESVILLE — After losing to the host team 22-25, 14-25, the Lady Dawgs beat Murchison 26-24, 25-21; Kerrville 25-16, 17-25, 15-9; and Fredericksburg 25-17, 25-5 on Sept. 29.
Burnet kept the momentum going Oct. 1 with a win against Gatesville 25-18, 25-23.

AGAINST GATESVILLE: Escamilla served the winning point of the match, an ace. Alexa Barry had 9 service points.
