Billy Roy “Bill” Terrell, 85, died Sept. 29, 2012, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Elmore City, Okla. He served in the Air Force Reserve from the end of World War II through the Korean War.

He married Vallie Marie Blevins on Dec. 24, 1950. He was employed by Warren Petroleum (Gulf/Chevron) for more than 40 years. He worked his way up from roustabout at the plant where his father was employed to district manager of the oil and gas facilities.

He made many friends along the way, from Maysville, Okla., to Kenedy (Fashing plant), Texas, to Hobbs, N.M., to Marble Falls/Horseshoe Bay.

Early in their marriage, the couple loved to golf and water ski. He enjoyed dove hunting and fishing with his buddies, and playing dominoes with his neighbors and Masonic brothers.

He was a master craftsman who built everything from fishing rods to furniture and embraced new technology with a flourish. He was raised as a Master Mason in Maysville, Okla., in 1952. Upon moving to Marble Falls, he joined the Blazing Star Masonic lodge. He served many places and stations in his lodges including Worshipful Master. Also, he achieved Order of Knights Templar Commandery in the York Rite.

He lived in Marble Falls for more than 20 years.

Survivors include daughters Susan Terrell Owens and husband Michael of Copperas Cove and Patricia Terrell Chimene and husband J.B. of Austin; daughter-in-law Sharon Terrell and husband Charlie of Highlands; grandchildren Shaunda Terrell, Michelle Terrell, David “Andy” Terrell  and wife Karen, Steven Terrell, Jonathan Owens and wife Crystal, Vallie Owens Cameron, G.G. Chimene, Zachary Chimene and Coby Chimene; eight great-grandchildren; brother Walter Terrell and wife JoAnne of Norman,Okla.;  sister Ila Mae “Terry” Long of Norman, Okla.; brother-in-law Buck Blevins and wife Nancy of Chandler; and sister-in-law Johnie Sue and husband J.R. Chumley of Purcell, Okla.

He was preceded in death by parents Roy Mannie and Della Irene Terrell; his wife of 61 years; and his only son Michael Roy Terrell.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at First United Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet Drive in Marble Falls, with the Rev. Ellen Ely officiating.

Interment will be 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Elmore City Cemetery in Elmore City, Okla., with the Rev. John Welch officiating.
