Burnet 8th A extends winning streak
LLANO — The Lady Dawgs made quick work of the Daubers on Sept. 24 with a 25-8, 25-14 victory. Coaches credited the front row for attacking and adjusting to Llano’s blockers and were equally pleased with Burnet’s serving.

Burnet 7th and 8th B teams compete in tourney
KYLE — The Burnet Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade B volleyball teams competed in the Barton Middle School tournament Sept. 21-22.
The seventh-graders took third place by defeating Chapa 25-13, 25-6 and Bedichek 25-20, 25-15 but losing to Llano 19-25, 25-19, 15-25. Shiloh Roberts was named the team’s most valuable player thanks to generating 30 points off her serve. Other top servers included Beth Boyd, Bailey Lough and Chelsea Bible.
The eighth-graders finished in fourth place by earning a win against Chapa 25-12, 25-11 but losing to Llano 9-25, 23-25 and Bedichek 20-25, 23-25. The team’s MVP was Kiley Burnet, who had 20 straight serves in the win against Chapa.
Marble Falls 8th C teams scrimmage each other
MARBLE FALLS — The two Marble Falls Middle School eighth-grade C volleyball teams scrimmaged each other for a fun game Sept. 20.
The team that consisted of Brynn Reeder, Rachel Coursey, Stephanie King, Abby Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez, Sara Rutland, Cruz Sanchez, Veronica Flores and Courtney Cobb won 25-23 and 25-14.
The other team consisted of Haleigh Stueckroth, Ivy Munn, Kim Boni, Kyanna Salinas, Skylar Johnson, Aly Steward, Makayla Hilburn, Madison Burdett, Omri Hayes, Renae Cockerill and Kiara Taylor.
“They all did an awesome job,” coach Jillian McDonald said. “I saw big improvements in everyone. Great job.”
