Burnet 8th White 33, Mountain Valley 6

CANYON LAKE — The Bulldogs scored on their opening drive and never trailed Mountain Valley on Sept. 20.

TOP PLAYERS: Drew Kiser had touchdown runs of 5 and 9 yards; Steven Gallardo had 2-yard and 25-yard touchdown runs; Alex Gonzalez intercepted a trick throwback pass for a 22-yard touchdown.

Burnet 8th Green 0, Mountain Valley 0 (tie)

CANYON LAKE — The Bulldogs kept Mountain Valley from scoring on its final drive in each of the two halves to preserve the tie Sept. 20. Burnet’s offense converted on fourth down during the last drive to keep Mountain Valley from getting another possession at the end of the game.

TOP PLAYERS: Tayden Qualls had an interception on the Burnet 8-yard line on Mountain Valley’s last possession of the game. Nickolas Payne had 9 carries for 56 yards.

ON OFFENSE: Micah Wise, Jacob Brown, Ryan Warwick, Cordon Nicholas, Jesse Johanson, Tyrese Acosta, Cody Moore

Llano 7th 48, Ingram 2

INGRAM — The Llano seventh-grade football team formed one squad to earn a big win against Ingram on Sept. 20 using seven different players to score points. The Dauber defense forced four turnovers. Llano had a 40-0 lead at the half.

TOP PLAYERS: Ben Walling scored 42-yard and 10-yard touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Josh Soliz scored on a 23-yard touchdown run.

ON OFFENSE: Justus Honea hit Anthony Watson for a 50-yard touchdown and Mason Greenwood for another touchdown. Brenden Cotton and Nolan Keller each rushed for two-point conversions. Shawn Kiser scored the final touchdown.

ON DEFENSE: Mason Greenwood, Tyler Gann and Paul O’Brien recovered fumbles. Ray Dixon recovered a fumble on a snap.

RECORDS: Llano 7th grade is 2-0.


Burnet 9th 34, Canyon Lake 8

BURNET — The Burnet freshmen came away with a big 34-8 victory against the Canyon Lake Hawks on Sept. 20.

“The Bulldogs played a great game and continue to get better and work hard each week,” Bulldogs coach Tim Hulon said. “We were able to dominate the game by being physical and executing for four quarters.”

The Bulldog defense was led by Cullen Ferrill, who played a great game and really stood out on special teams with some big hits, Hulon said.

“The offense played well and overcame a some mental mistakes with a few holds and motion penalties,” Hulon added.
