Linda Jean ‘Jeannie’ Carter
Linda Jean “Jeannie” Carter, 65, of Killeen died Sept. 23, 2012. She was born on July 2, 1947, in Mineral Wells to Harry Leon and Annie Margaret Porter Daggett.
She graduated from Fort Worth Christian College & Academy and worked for the Grayson County Tax Assessor Office in Sherman. She also was employed at Tenneco Oil Corp. and retired from Delhi Oil Corp. of San Antonio. She was the owner and operator of J.C. International Clothes in Killeen.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the W.S. Young Church of Christ in Killeen.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, William Dan Carter; sons John Carter and wife Wendy of Burnet and James Carter and wife Michelle of San Antonio; sisters Sue Turner of Fort Worth and Lottie Spencer of Mesquite; grandsons William Carter of Lubbock and Schuyler Carter and Zane Carter, both of Burnet; and granddaughter: Macy Carter of San Antonio.
A funeral service is 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at the W.S. Young Church of Christ in Killeen with Boyce Edwards officiating. Interment follows at 4:30 p.m. in Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home in Cherokee.
