Ida Sue Kuykendall Cavness

Ida Sue Kuykendall Cavness, 83, of Marble Falls died Sept. 11, 2012. She was born on June 8, 1929, in Cherokee.
She worked for the IRS for more than 30 years. After her retirement, she traveled and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her loved ones.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She adored her children and was a devoted and faithful mother to them. "Granny Sue" cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And to her many friends, she was loyal and kind. She was a tender-hearted woman who touched the lives of those she met.
Survivors include daughter Beverly Lanier and husband Derris of Austin; sons Gary Hightower and Keith Hightower, both of Marble Falls, and Barry Hightower of Austin; grandchildren Hillary Hightower, Kimberly Baumgardner, Emily Setford, Benjamin Lanier, Traci Hightower, Pamela Odom, Jeffrey Lanier, Dustin Hightower and Sam Hightower; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Millie Kuykendall and brothers Wilson and Wiley Kuykendall.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A graveside service is 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at the Kuykendall Cemetery in Cherokee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
