Mary Elizabeth NeSmith Clarke
Mary Elizabeth NeSmith Clarke, 86, died Sept. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born on Oct. 8, 1925, in Zephyr, where she graduated from high school.
After graduating from business school, she met and married Billy Jim Clarke of Cleburne. After living in Brownwood, Lockhart, and Austin, the couple moved to Marble Falls 38 years ago. In Austin, she worked as an IRS tax examiner.
She was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, porcelain art painter and friend.
Survivors include sisters Olene Tyler of Belton and Audrey Collins of Crowell; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; children the Rev. Carol Clarke of San Marcos, Barbara Clarke of Marble Falls and Jim and wife Lynn of Austin; and grandsons Justin and Tanner Clarke of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents Olen and Frieda NeSmith; and sister Ruth Dempsey.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Edgar Funeral Home, 2105 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, (830) 693-5808. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Sept. 15 at Granite Mountain Baptist Church, located at RR 1431 and FM 1980 west of Marble Falls. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park on Ranch Road 4 in Burnet.
