Former Marble Falls volleyball player credits faith and sport she loves for recovery following spinal injury

COLLEGE STATION — It’s one thing to talk about faith, quite another to live by it.
Jillian Phillips Hunt, a former Marble Falls High School and Texas A&M volleyball player, has put her faith to the test by believing she can be the same individual she was before an unusual accident changed her life four months ago.
On Memorial Day weekend, a family member accidentally fell on her when the two were on a water slide during a family reunion.

Though she never lost the ability to walk, she didn’t realize how serious the injury was until her husband, Bryan, and parents, Ron and Kathleen Phillips, took her to an urgent care facility after the accident.
After taking tests, medical personnel immediately put her on a stretcher, tying her firmly in place and with her neck braced, as she was transported to a hospital. Hunt’s spine was broken.
