WIMBERLEY — The Lady Mustangs went 3-3 during the weekend with wins against Burnet 28-26, 25-17, Comfort 25-23 25-16 and Lockhart 25-20, 17-25, 25-19. Losses were to Azle 26-24, 23-25 and 20-25, Laredo United 21-25, 25-21, 18-25 and Kerrville Tivy 28-30, 25-16, 23-25.

“Although this was a better start than last, we were disappointed because we were capable of winning the entire bracket and playing for the championship game,” head coach Julie Downs said.

TOP PLAYERS: Hayley Fishbeck averaged 10 kills a match; Haley Coulter averaged 29 assists per contest.

ON OFFENSE: Catie Whitecotton averaged 6 kills per match.

ON DEFENSE: Lacie Long averaged 21 digs per contest; Whitecotton averaged 4 blocks per match.

QUOTABLE: “We are trying to fill the (opposite) hitter position … and train our young hitters to play hard all the time. Our maturity and court experience is definitely the weakest part of our game. I hope that with a month of preparation priot to district, they will become key varsity players,” Downs said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 4-4.
