Francis Edward Benoit
Francis Edward Benoit, 87, of Meadowlakes died Aug. 6, 2012. He was born in Bastrop on July 14, 1925.
He was worked for the City of Austin and retired after 41 years. He also served on the City of Austin Employees Retirement Board for 22 years.
He was a decorated veteran, serving in the Air Force during World War II and in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge Hill Country No. 456. He excelled and was very active in local political campaigns up until his death.
And everyone was well aware of his devotion to his beloved Aggies.
Survivors include brother L.V. Benoit; son Byron Benoit; daughter Evon Benoit; grandchildren James Benoit, Denese Thompson, Yvette Benoit and Bryan Benoit; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father Frank Benoit; mother Beatrice Benoit; sister Gayle Marshall; his first wife of 45 years, Jean Benoit, in 1991; and his second wife who he married in 2000, Billie Jean Sanders, in 2009.
A celebration of life was Aug. 12 at the Hidden Falls Country Club in Meadowlakes.
