LLANO — Youth interested in participating in a 4-H shooting sports program for the 2012-2013 season must attend two safety classes Sept. 9 and 16.

The mandatory classes are 3:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Llano County AgriLIFE Extension Office, 1447 Texas 71 East. A parent or guardian must accompany the child.

The classes teach firearm safety, range rules and 4-H enrollment procedures.

Participants in the shooting program must be at least 8 years old and in the third grade as of Aug. 31.
