Randell Paul Worley, 75, of Kingsland and formerly of Big Spring and Grand Prairie,  died Aug. 2, 2012. He was born to Richard Homer and Ila Dean (Guffey) Worley on Dec. 30, 1936, in Jud.

He was an Army veteran. After attending flight mechanics school in Tulsa, Okla., he was assigned as a crew chief in Alaska studying the repair times associated with the colder weather. After leaving the military, he spent most of his career as a commercial airline mechanic.

He could work on many kinds of aircraft, from the nose to the tail, and at one time in South America serviced crop-dusting helicopters.

 

He never married, but blended with many friends and made them his family.

Survivors include his sister Phyllis Mason (Preston) of Kingsland; nephew Curtis Mason; nieces Renee Nix and Pam Suitt; and great-nephews Tyson Mason, Colin Mason and Cody Mason.

He was preceded in death by sister Barbara Roper of Stanton.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Aug. 6 at Smith Funeral Homes, 210 Ave. A in Knox City. A graveside service is 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Rochester City Cemetery in Rochester with Steve Leftwich from Chapel of the Hills Baptist in Buchanan Dam presiding.

Interment follows at Rochester City Cemetery.
