Henry Maurice ‘Jiggs’ Giddens
Henry Maurice “Jiggs” Giddens, 96, of Lake Victor died Aug. 2, 2012, at his residence.
He was a charter member of the Cedar Park Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, served as an Army tank driver in the Philippines during World War II and retired as a stonecutter from Justin Industries, formerly Texas Quarries.
Survivors include daughters Frances Lohman of Red Oak, and Wynnetta Johnson and husband Dennis of Rosebud; sons Freddie and wife Judy Giddens of Sidney, Mont., and Bill Giddens of Lampasas; sisters Jo Spradling of Austin and Marie Alverson of Burnet; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Hahn Giddens; stepmother Ida Davis Giddens; parents Henry Marley Giddens and Elizabeth Wiley Giddens; sisters Lola Isaacks and Eloise Nicholson; and brother Leslie Giddens.
Visitation was Aug. 5 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.
A service is 10 a.m. Aug. 6 in the funeral home chapel. Interment follows in the Bagdad Cemetery in Leander.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
