Fiscal responsibility top issue in Llano County commissioner’s race

LLANO — Two candidates vying for the Llano County Precinct 1 commissioner’s seat say the most important issues facing the area involve maintaining a balanced budget and a low property tax rate.

Tom Engler, 65, and Peter Jones, 64, both of Horseshoe Bay, will go head-to-head in the Tuesday runoff. Both are Republicans; no Democrats are running. Polls open 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
