Marble Falls anglers compete at High School Fishing World Finals
LAKE DARDANELLE, Ark. — Marble Falls High School anglers Austin Ellis and Hunter McNeese placed 46th out of 120 teams at the High School Fishing World Finals on July 19-21.
The two caught three fish weighing a total of 6.15 pounds and couldn’t advance to the finals.
“They made us very proud in how they represented Marble Falls and our fishing team,” said Marble Falls High School Anglers Club sponsor Lorna Ellis. “What a tremendous experience this was for us, and our hope is that many more of our students will get this chance next year.”
The Marble Falls club is the largest in the state, she said. Thirteen teams represented Texas at the contest with the Mansfield High School team advancing to the finals.
