Thomas A. “Tom” Johnson, 58, of Granite Shoals died July 18, 2012. He was born in Dallas on March 1, 1954, to Willie D. and Maggie E. Johnson.

He graduated from Leander High School in 1973 and served in the Air Force from 1974 to 1979. At the time of his death, he was employed at ACE Hardware in Marble Falls and took great pride in his work.

He always had a “fish tale” of a story to share to get a smile out of you. Many will remember him for his signature mustache and silly jokes. He was proud of our armed forces and enjoyed fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys and, most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand and taught his children to do the same with the utmost respect for others. He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Theresa (Chaney) Johnson; sons Raymond Johnson and wife Jodi of Vienna, S.D., and Aaron Johnson of Austin; daughters Tasha Ganzer and husband Ryan of Livingston and Melissa Johnson of Granite Shoals; grandchildren Aaron Wade, Reagan, Brady and Jakob; sisters Janece Straley, Carmaletta Dale, Linda Chesser and Jean Hester; brothers Dean Johnson and Tony Johnson; brother-in-law Tommy Chaney; nieces Cassie Chaney and Paige Bailey and husband James; great-nephews Riley and Remington; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Billy Johnson; and sister Betty Johnson.

A visitation is 6-8 p.m. July 23 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A graveside service is 10 a.m. July 24 at the Marble Falls City Cemetery.
