Ruby Briscoe

Ruby Briscoe, 91, died June 15, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born in Marble Falls June 11, 1920, to Henry and Della Heine.
She loved unconditionally and was loved by many in return. She touched so many lives with her beautiful heart and smile.
She lived 25 years in Friendswood, where she was a faithful member of the Heritage Gardeners and an active member of the community. The gardens at her home were named in honor of Briscoe and her husband after they restored them. Many people now enjoy visiting Briscoe Gardens.
She also liked modeling, bowling and watching the Houston Astros.
The couple moved to their ranch in Midway, where she continued her passion in life, nurturing and caring for her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include sons Gene and Jerry Dorsett; sister Julia F. Todd; grandchildren Montie Dorsett, La Vonda McSpadden, Jimmie Naumann, LeaAnn Dye, Dusty Dorsett, Dena Dorsett, Joel Dorsett, Reagan Owen and Sunny Floyd; 16 great-grandchildren; two grea-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eddie Briscoe; daughter LaDene Dorsett; four siblings; one great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation was June 17 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. A service was June 18 at the funeral chapel with interment at Oatmeal Cemetery in Oatmeal.
Her family thanks Lana Conklin and Mary, Stephanie, Carla and Dub of Lighthouse Hospice of Georgetown for their dedication and kindness.
