Marble Falls coach takes job at Lindsay
MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls High School assistant football and baseball coach Rob Bird signed a contract to be the head boys track and assistant football coach at Lindsay High School on June 19.
He might even help coach basketball, he said.
“(The community) just had what we were looking for,” he said. “I think it’s a really good family move.”
The North Texas school is a member of District 5-1A Division I football and has won six of the past seven Lone Star Cups, a race that gives points for finishes in athletics and academics.
Wife Tammi will be an English teacher at Gainesville High School, which is five miles from Lindsay. The family already found a house, Rob Bird said.
The Lindsay football team has qualified for the playoffs for six straight years, while the boys and girls track teams won the district and regional championships.
“They always compete in athletics, in everything,” Bird said.
