Lillian Genevieve Harrison
Lillian Genevieve Harrison, 82, died June 5, 2012. She was born in San Antonio on Oct. 31, 1929.
She graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio.
She married the love of her life, Charles Harrison, and supported his career with the Army Air Force Exchange Service and Wyatt’s Cafeteria while they lived in Houston; El Paso; Wichita Falls; Oklahoma City; Elk City, Okla.; Vicenza, Italy; Tacoma, Wash.; San Antonio; and, eventually, Burnet.
Her devotion to their family was clear during holiday family gatherings, summers spent with their grandchildren, while raising Brittany spaniel puppies and attending the Burnet County Area Fair.
While living in Burnet, she was an active member of the Baptist church, the Bethel Community Cemetery Association, the Masonic Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She encouraged her granddaughters to join the Daughters of the Republic of Texas to celebrate their Texas heritage.
She was a wonderful role model with warm words and hugs, and she cooked for everyone. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by many.
Survivors include children Jim Layne of San Antonio, Charles Harrison of Austin and Kathy Dixon of Burnet; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; friends; and caregiver Jeanette Malacara.
