Harold Dean “Dimer” Minton, 80, died June 7, 2012, at his son’s home surrounded by family after a battle with kidney failure. He was born in the Lake Victor community in Burnet County on April 16, 1932, to Austin Dallas and Armour Iona Smith Minton.

He served in the Army, retiring after 21 years.

Before and after his retirement, he pursued his first love of being a cowboy. He spent many hours in the saddle, working on the 10,000-acre Company Ranch as well as helping friends and neighbors work their livestock.

Survivors include sister Jessie I. Iselt and husband Keith of Spicewood; daughter Deborah L. Webb of Lake Victor; son Tony C. Minton and wife Susan of Burnet; grandchildren Steven “Andy” Webb, Luke Webb, Kelley Minton, Kimberly Minton and John Minton; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles Delmar Minton; twin sons Harold and Richard Minton; and grandsons Jared Minton Webb and Chad Michael Webb.

A graveside service was June 10 at Pebble Mound Cemetery in Burnet County with his friend Barry Drake officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Yancy, John Lastly, Ted Norred, Andy Webb, Luke Webb and John Minton.
