Despite recount, Engler, Jones remain in Llano County commissioner’s runoff race

LLANO – The two leading vote-getters will still face each other in the July 31 GOP runoff in spite of a recount in the Llano County Precinct 1 race, officials said.

Peter Jones and Tom Engler remain the candidates with the most votes after a manual recount June 6, election officials said.

A third candidate — Clayton Leverett — failed to gain any additional votes.
