QB Kiser following lead of ex-Bulldog McGee
BURNET — A decade ago, 6-year-old Derek Kiser hung on every word Burnet High School quarterback Stephen McGee told him.
Then, McGee was leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the Class 3A state championship game, and young Kiser wanted to be just like him.
In fact, Kiser even wore No. 7 when he began playing football, the same number McGee, now a member of the Dallas Cowboys, still wears.
