Don L. Holland, 73, of Tow died May 25, 2012, in Llano. He was born in Rotan on Nov. 4, 1938, to Sid and Survella (Dean) Holland.

He married Sara Nuttall on May 24, 1981, in Tucson, Ariz.

He moved to Tow in 1993 from Round Rock and was a member of Tow First Baptist Church.

He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army for 21 years. He enjoyed working on computers, reloading ammunition and being outdoors.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, survivors include daughters Allison Cambell of Elgin and Anastasia Oestreich and husband Kelly of Llano; grandchildren Dane, Zaq, Choe and Sydnee; and sister Carolyn Lawson and husband James of New Braunfels.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Gregg Holland on Sept. 27, 2006.

A memorial service is 3 p.m. June 3 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with the Rev. Richard Vandeventer officiating and military honors provided by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
