James Allan Kays
James Allan Kays, 80, of Kosse died April 23, 2011, at his home with his wife Sue Kays, three daughters and two granddaughters at his bedside.
He was born in Willisburg, Ky., on Oct. 12, 1930, to Ethel and Harry Kays.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Beverly Kays of Kosse; daughters Pam and husband Karl Tibbetts of La Porte, Janet and husband Mickey Corley of Blue Ridge and Debra and husband Randy Burton of Kosse; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Freddie Kays and wife Mary of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Jackie McNabb and wife Bea of Hallettsville; sister Marilyn Schulte of Spring; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother Ethel Kays McNabb; stepfather A.J. McNabb; sister Nancy Fenner; and brother Billy Kays.
A service was May 6 at First Baptist Church of Kosse with a graveside service May 7 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.
