Sylvia Yvonne Gordon-Jones
Sylvia Yvonne Gordon-Jones, 69, of Llano, better known to friends and family as Susie Jones, died May 15, 2012.
She was born June 8, 1942, to Lee Roy Gordon and Beatris (Williams) Gordon in Tarrant County. She also lived in Gordon.
She graduated from Rankin High School in Rankin and went on to receive her business degree.
She married Larry Jones on March 7, 1969, in Ozona. The couple lived in various locations across Texas and settled in Llano in 1983.
She was best known for working with the late Dorris Hill. She was a caregiver and supporter for her family and loved her friends as if they were family.
Survivors include daughters Jerri Kaye and husband Kerry Majkszak and Kelli and husband Martin Tudyk, all of Llano; son Duane and wife Kelley Jones of Llano; brother Gary and wife Cathey Gordon of Gordon; sisters Janis and husband Lesley Mills and Julie Merritt, all of Gordon; grandchildren Daniel and wife Jennifer Hipp of Tawas, Mich., and Dustin and Grant Jones and Avery, Lauren and Kenton Tudyk, all of Llano; sister-in-laws Louise Fleming of Kingsland and Nita Miller of Llano; brother-in-law Jimmie Jones of Lometa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband on May 22, 2003; her parents; and brothers Marion Hughes, and Nicky Gordon.
A visitation is 3-5 p.m. May 18 at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. May 19 at the Llano City Cemetery with the Rev. Stan Troy officiating.
Honorary pallbearers include Randy Mills, Greg Gordon, Doug Gordon, Hank Cunningham, Matthew Hawkins, Dale Majors, David Miller and Kenny Oestreich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of choice.
